Polished concrete transforms ordinary slabs into sleek, high-performance floors that look as good as they function. North Star Solutions built its reputation in decorative concrete — spending over a decade perfecting this craft before expanding into other flooring categories.
The process uses progressively finer diamond abrasives to grind and refine a concrete surface until it reaches the desired sheen level — from a satin matte to a mirror-like high gloss. The result is a floor that requires no waxing, handles extreme traffic, and holds up for decades.

No waxing, no topcoat reapplication, no special cleaners. Polished concrete is swept or dust-mopped and occasionally wet-mopped. That’s it — year after year.

Cost-Effective Long Term
Polished concrete uses the existing slab — no material added on top. Over a 10–20 year horizon, it is one of the lowest total-cost flooring options available for large commercial spaces.

Our Process
- Consultation & Assessment — We evaluate the existing slab condition, aggregate exposure desired, and sheen level goals before committing to scope.
- Surface Preparation — Cracks, joints, and surface defects are repaired. Existing coatings or adhesives are removed. The slab is ground flat.
- Progressive Polishing — A sequence of diamond abrasive tools at progressively finer grits refines the surface from coarse cut to near-mirror finish.
- Densifying & Sealing — Lithium silicate densifier is applied to harden the surface. A protective guard is applied for stain and chemical resistance.
- Final Walkthrough — We walk the completed floor with you, confirm the sheen level meets expectations, and provide care instructions.
